EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Additive Manufacturing (CDT)
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing has been established to provide the people and talent to fuel the industrial revolution in Additive Manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing. It will produce research leaders who are ready to tackle the major scientific and engineering challenges over the next 10-15 years in enabling AM and 3D printing to play a prominent role in manufacturing. Working alongside industrial partners, the Centre offers a four-year postgraduate programme which incorporates a taught training component, an industrial internship together with a PhD research project. On completion, graduates will have the necessary skills and experience to embark on a professional career in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing. The first cohort of 9 CDT students will graduate in September 2018 having completed their industrial internships, training modules and most importantly their thesis.
The CDT also hosts an Annual Industry Visit day, when all students (currently 52) and existing and potential industrial sponsors are invited to attend. This is an opportunity for industrial partners to learn about the PhD projects and the advances made through research and to allow further cross-fertilisation of ideas as well as providing an invaluable networking event. If you would like to attend the event in 2019, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Further information about the CDT can also be found on https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/additivemanufacturing/index.aspx .
